Exploring the Barbados West Coast Boardwalk

Want a fun way to spend the morning in Barbados? Head over to the west coast boardwalk for a healthy walk, a less healthy rum punch!, to meet local fishermen, explore a marine museum and maybe even rescue a sea turtle hatchling!

Barbados West Coast Boardwalk

This boardwalk runs about 2.5 km (1.5 miles) from just north of Sandy Lane beach up to Heron Bay beach. It is not a continuous boardwalk but rather stops and starts at various beaches along the coast.  It’s a great spot for a stroll, with sea bathing breaks in between.

Feeling adventurous? Give water-skiing and jet-skiing a try! Or rent a kayak and explore further up the coast, gliding over warm, clear waters with sea turtles for company.

Watersports

Stop in at the Folkestone Marine Park to tour the small museum and get a drink or ice-cream at the shop. If you’re traveling with children they’ll enjoy the playground and exploring the park.
