A Market Right In The Port!
There are not that many of them and it’s a great opportunity here in Halifax to visit the waterfront and meet Theodore Tugboat, famous for his own TV show, now retired on the seafront town of Halifax. It’s a special treat to visit this market where you can taste fresh lobsters, mussels, oysters and salmon; and sample fine wines and fresh produce. There is often live entertainment by local bands and a very special performance at “Wrap so D”, who sings his favorite tunes while tossing your gourmet omelet with fresh herbs and your choice of condiments. Emily Forrest, who does Halifax local tasting tours, starts her tour of top restaurants right outside of the farmers market.
A Melting Pot of Cultures & People
The market is perfect for just strolling or sitting to watch the many ethnic groups bring their own flare and talent to this cultural advent. You will find them serving Jamaican Patties and cooking the finest Indian Currie, Japanese Sushi, Chinese Stir-fry, Polish sausages, Dragons Breath and Edam Cheeses, and endless types of baked goods, pies and breads all made locally from local farm products. The wine you can sample are all made locally and are excellent. Several of the local vineyarads have recieved national and international awards for excellence
